Oct 22, 2015 (Proverbs 15:10,11)

Harsh discipline is for him who forsakes the way, and he who hates correction will die. Hell and Destruction are before the LORD; so how much more the hearts of men? (Prov 15:10,11).

This follows the previous proverb and emphasizes the serious nature of rejection the counsel of God and choosing to walk in ways contrary to His ways as revealed in the divinely inspired scriptures. The ways of God have never been suggestions; they are commands to be obeyed! Contrary to teaching by those who refer to themselves as fundamental but, in truth, are liberals, one is never assured of eternity in the presence of God by virtue of having said a sinner’s prayer. Jesus tells us in advance, “The hour is coming in which all who are in the grave will hear His voice and come out — those who have done good to the resurrection of life: and those who have done evil to the resurrection of condemnation” (John 5:28,29). It will be our walk, not our talk or having said a sinner’s prayer, which determines our eternal destiny.
